I am a bible-believing Christian and happily married to Melanie for over eighteen years. Melanie and her mother, Abbie Sue Pressley own and operate the small business Wild Birds Unlimited on Congaree Road. They have run the successful franchise for over 25 years here in Greenville County and have won numerous awards including the Order of the Silver Crescent.
My father died when I was about 10 years old and my mother raised us three kids as a self-employed seamstress from our home. We always felt very safe because deputies, police officers, firefighters, and medics were at our home all the time getting patches sewed onto their uniforms. She also made custom formal dresses and original costume clothing. We had a great time growing-up but we definitely learned how to stretch every penny.
I am an estate planning attorney with the law firm Guest & Brady. After becoming a lawyer, I earned a Ph.D. in Urban & Regional Planning. I have six nieces and nephews and mentor pre-law college students. For hobbies, I play guitar, use the Swamp Rabbit Trail, and we hike Paris Mountain State Park. I am a PPG2 rated powered paramotor pilot and I enjoy flying in the Upstate mountains and in Florida.
